James Keathley grew up in the Lansing area and attended Okemos High School. In 2005 he enrolled in Michigan State University and graduated in 2008 with a Baccalaureate Degree in Political Science/Pre-Law. In 2010 Mr. Keathley enrolled in Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During his time in law school Mr. Keathley was involved in the client counseling competition. He graduated with honors in 2013 and sat for the bar exam in July of that year. Upon being admitted to practice law in Michigan, Mr. Keathley began his legal career as an Associate Attorney at The Crockett Law Offices with a particular focus on criminal law and estate planning. Throughout his career he has made a point of taking on indigent criminal cases as a means of giving back to his community.
Mr. Keathley started his own office in 2017 placing an even greater focus on representing low-income and indigent defendants.
In his spare time Mr. Keathley is an amateur pitmaster, welder, and blacksmith. He also is an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman.
